Currency · Vendor or exchange versus trade

Flip a currency while the prices differ

What to do on this page

  1. Set the league so the green links open the right Trade2 search.
  2. Read the question under Walk the tree. Click a green link, look at the cheapest listing, then answer yes or no.
  3. Type the three prices above before you spend anything. Continue only when the sale is higher than the cost.
  4. Yes means do the next step. No means stop.

Early in a session the gold vendor or the Currency Exchange is sometimes cheaper than trade for one stackable currency. The profit is that gap. It closes the hour other people stand in it.

Hard stop: A gap of a fraction of an exalt on a slow currency is not a job. If you cannot turn the stack before the price moves, leave it.

Forbidden Rites sample · 2026-09-18 · 1 Divine = 452.9 exalt = 8.47 chaos

Re-price it today

No fixed currency. Compare the vendor or the exchange with trade, in the same unit, and flip one stack only while they differ. When the prices meet, stop.

Cost to follow the tree
The cost is the stack you buy. The sale is the other side of that same currency, the same hour.

Does this still make money today?

Use the same currency in every box, usually Divine orbs. Example: the finished item sells for 5, the base costs 1, and the currency you will spend is 1. You are 3 ahead, so continue.

Fill in all three prices.

Buy
Whichever side is cheaper right now: wisdoms, augmentations, chaos, or any other stack the vendor sells. Recheck the pair before every stack.
Sell this
The other side of the same currency, in the same hour.
Session cost
One small stack. Stop when the buy price and the sell price meet.
Batch
One stack, then look again. A dead ratio is not a craft you push.

Walk the tree

Answer one question at a time. You can step back.

Decide

Did you search Trade2 for both sides of one stackable currency (vendor or exchange, and trade) sold this week?

Same base + the keep mods. Ignore week-old listings and a single huge vanity ask.

Every gate on one page

Screenshot this if you want it next to Trade2. Green is a keep/list. Gold is sell-the-mid. Red is vendor or stop.

  1. DecideDid you search Trade2 for both sides of one stackable currency (vendor or exchange, and trade) sold this week?
  2. DecideAre there several similar recent listings (a cluster, not one outlier)?
  3. DecideWould a conservative sale beat the cost of a small batch?
  4. DecideIs one side cheaper than the other after the gold or fee you pay?
  5. DecideCan a small stack sell before that ratio moves?
  6. List itFlip one stack, then recheck
  7. StopThe gap is too thin to stand in
  8. StopNo spread today
  9. StopNot profitable today
  10. StopMarket is too thin
  11. StopDon't craft from memory

Method notes: Hideout currency flipping: compare the two prices, trade the gap, quit when they match.

Batch magic items that already have two mods

The finished item is only worth more than the materials on the day you check. A magic item that already has two useful mods is the start. A white base you Transmute is a different, usually losing, craft.

Whatever the finished search is paying for

Buy the fracture, then chaos the second mod

Once the two-mod batch is too small for the bankroll, the product is a base that already has the expensive mod locked. You buy that fracture from someone else. Fracturing it yourself is a separate bet, and it loses when the orb divided by the hit chance costs more than the spread.

Any

You already have an item

If it already has the mods buyers search for, list it. If it is a magic item with two of those mods and an open affix, it can enter the batch. A blank rare is a vendor.
